It’s that time of the year for chapter board call for nominations. Your San Diego-Tijuana Chapter election committee will begin accepting nominations now through May 24 for candidates to serve in the following positions:

•  President
• Vice President
• Financial Officer
• Secretary 
• Social Media Manager

Interested? Here’s how you can qualify to appear on the ballot.

• Make sure you’re a member in good standing as of May 24, which means your dues must be up-to-date. Need to renew? Visit: NAHJ Membership Portal
• Must show proof
• All the officer candidates must collect 10 nominations and signatures from NAHJ chapter members in good standing. Regular, Academic, Lifetime members with a regular membership type are eligible to sign and vote for all positions. 

• Associate members are eligible to run, nominate and vote for positions except for chapter president.
• Also send a short bio, including your current position

2021 Election Timeline for Chapter Board Elections

May 17th:  Call for Nominations

May 24^th: Deadline to submit 10 nomination signatures and proof of NAHJ membership in good standing before 11:59 p.m. 

May 25-28^th *Vetting process* The Elections Committee will screen candidates 

May 28^st: Deadline to become a member in good standing and be eligible to vote

May 31^st: Ballot is announced and campaigning begins

June 3^rd: Online voting begin (Polls open two weeks before the polls close)

June 17^th: Polls close at 5 p.m. ET and results are announced
